Adopt-A-Block Clean Up

On Saturday, April 21, 2007, residents from all three Weed & Seed neighborhoods met at the West Side Neighborhood Partnership Center to participate in Adopt-A-Block clean up. Approximately 35 people helped clean up in the Oliver Gateway, LaSalle Park and West Side Neighborhoods.

After a quick breakfast and instructions from Cathy Toppel, Director, Code Enforcement, City of South Bend, volunteers went to their respective neighborhoods to pick up trash and clean up their blocks. More than forty bags of trash were collected during the clean up and several blocks are much cleaner due to the effort. After working hard, the volunteers were treated to lunch at the Partnership Center.

This is the third year a clean up effort has taken place and the one that had the largest amount of volunteers. Thanks to all who participated and we look forward to a cleaner Weed & Seed area!
